Construction of 36 meter Road Under Bridge (RUB) near level crossing No. RV-172 between Titlagarh and Kesinga Stations in Sambalpur has been completed successfully. Construction of this RUB will resolve the problem being faced by local public due to frequent closure of level crossing falling on the National Highway-26. There was a long standing demand for the Construction of this RUB .
RUB was successfully completed with seven hours traffic block for insertion of 48 nos. of precast RCC Twin Boxes of internal size 2 X 5mts X 5.15 mts below the track. Though the work for construction of Road Over Bridge (ROB) has been sanctioned in the year 2016 in lieu of level crossing no.RV-172 and same is to be constructed by NHAI, the work was yet to be taken up by NHAI due to land acquisition issues. Hence, Govt. of Odisha requested the Railway for construction of RUB and gave consent to bear the cost for the same. The estimated cost of RUB is Rs 13.37 crores. Railway took the work on priority and completed the work in 6 months and it is well before the completion date i.e. 28.02.
Railway finalized the tender expeditiously and completed casting of 48 nos. box segments and 10 nos. precast retaining walls within a short period of 04 months in spite of COVID restrictions. Traffic block was also arranged by East Coast Railway on priority and insertion of boxes below the track has successfully been completed .

With the successful completion of above launching work, ECOR once again reaffirms its commitment and dedication towards finalization of public projects. Successful completion of the above project will go a long way in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Kesinga as well as Kalahandi.
