Celebrities who played cricket with social messages participated in the celebrations, leaders, actors

The 6th to 4th Narendra Jena Memorial Football Net starts

Bhubaneswar, The 4th Narendra Jena Memorial State Level Football Tennis Tournament will be held for two days at Mamtajalli High School, Nayapalli grounds with the joint support of City Club Nayapalli and Bhubaneswar Football Tennis Association. A total of eight teams from across the state will take part in the tournament. They are Cuttack, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Bhubaneswar, Phulbani, Kandhamal, Rourkela, Dhenkanal.

The tournament will be officiated by international referees Sujit Patra, Rashmita Mohanty and Anna Kerketa. A committee has been set up to make the tournament a success. It includes state president Samarendra Jena, editor Pradeep Kumar Rautaray, national vice-president Sahadev Raut, chairman Dr. Surya Ranjan Parija, Panchanan Bal, Yogendra Jena, Tapan Bhanj, Trinath Mangraj, Mohammad Jiauddin, Treasurer Arun Kumar Sahu, Divya Narayan Swai are the chiefs.

The players will be selected from the tournament to participate in the national competition. Ao Nest Entertainment is the main contributor to the tournament. City Club editor Pradeep Kumar Rautaray urged a large number of people to attend the tournament and give encouragement to the players at a press conference at Hotel Chandan.

Players to practice on international standard turf, not ordinary grass carpet: Sports Minister

Bhubaneswar, Minister for Sports, Youth Services, Electronics and Information Technology Shri Tusharkant Behera on the last day of his three-day marathon tour at Tangerpalli Block Ministadium, Sundergarh District Headquarters, Hemgiri Block Headquarters, Lefripada Block 9 Jayaram High School He looked around the field.

Minister Behera inspected the identified areas in all the blocks in the district and discussed the arrangements for the construction of the turf with senior officials of the district and the block. Minister Tusharkant Behera spent time in the company of children with IT diversity research

Bhubaneswar, Sports, Youth Services, Electronics and Information Technology Minister spent the second day of his visit to Sundergarh district spending time with hockey school students and children. Earlier in the day, Minister Behera visited the STPA Center in Rourkela and discussed with the IT infrastructure there, the necessary facilities, as well as how to expand the IT sector in the state and create more employment opportunities in this regard.

Later, Minister Behera visited Vishra Block 4 and visited the SSD High School and the playground there to see the turf field. Later, the minister visited PM High School in Nuagaon block and Kadbahal High School in Kuarmunda block. He also visited the community playground in Kutra block, Machhmara primary school in Bargaon block and spent some time with the young children attending the school. Minister Behera expressed his love for hockey among these small children in Sundergarh and said that if synthetic turf was built in all blocks of the district in the coming days, the children would reach the pinnacle of success in Sundargarh district with new experiences.

During his visit today, the Minister toured the Hockey Coaching Center in the Rajgangpur block and discussed the training, practice, various facilities available, and the necessary sports equipment. He added that synthetic turf to be built here in the coming days could help with international preparations. The Hon'ble Chief Minister said that this strong decision towards Sundargarh district would be a blessing for the whole of Odisha.

During the visit, Minister Behera, who was in the company of the children, held a hockey stick in his hand and filled the children with excitement. The visit was attended by District Sports Superintendent and Sukinda MLA Shri Pritiranjan Ghadai, Rourkela MLA Shri Sarada Prasad Nayak, District Sports Officers, Block Chairperson, Local Sarpanch and People’s Representatives.

Visit to the proposed International Hockey Stadium to be built at Rourkela BPUT premises

Bhubaneswar, Today Chief Secretary Shri Suresh Mohapatra, Secretary to the Chief Minister (5T), Shri V.K. Pandian and Special Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Services, Mr. R Vinil Krishna Rourkela visited the proposed International Hockey Stadium to be built on the BPUT premises. It is targeted to be completed by the middle of 2022.

Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik last month announced the construction of an international hockey stadium in Rourkela. The Chief Minister also announced that the new stadium would be one of the venues for the 2023 Men's Hockey World Cup to be held in Odisha on January 2023. It will be the largest hockey stadium in the country and can seat 20,000 spectators at the same time. The proposed stadium, to be built on the BPUT campus, is being designed to provide a world-class experience to both players and spectators.

The goal is to build it as the world's most modern and connected hockey stadium. It will have a main pitch with food lights, a practice pitch, gym hydro therapy, a media center, a wireless center, a park and a variety of facilities for spectators. Sundergarh district is famous for hockey players. The state government has taken steps to build this world-class stadium in honor of Sundargarh's great contribution to Indian hockey.

The stadium will be a major venue in Rourkela and Sundergarh districts. The Chief Secretary and the Chief Minister's Secretary (5T) discussed the project with the Special Secretary of the Sports Department. The project will be presented to the Chief Minister soon.

Rotary District Cricket League-2021 is celebrated at the local railway stadium

Bhubaneswar, The Rotary District Cricket League 8-20 21 has been organized at the local railway stadium in Bhubaneswar in support of Rotary International District 3292. Multiple soprts facilities inagurated by general maneger, East coast railway

Bhubaneswar, General Manager, East Coast Railway Shri Vidya Bhushan inaugurated a series of sports facilities at Railway Indoor Stadium and also inaugurated Cricket Academy at Railway Cricket Stadium, Bhubaneswar, today in presence of Additional General Manager Shri Sudhir Kumar and all Principal Heads of the Departments of ECoR including senior officials and Sports personnel.

Shri Vidya Bhushan inaugurated the two storied gymnasium, facilities for Table Tennis, Handball, Basketball and Kabaddi at Railway Indoor Stadium. Also a Clay Court for Lawn Tennis was also inaugurated by the General Manager adjacent to indoor stadium. Later, General Manager also inaugurated the Cricket Academy at Railway Cricket Stadium at Bhubaneswar.

In order to promote the Sports, Railway Indoor Sports complex of East Coast Railway Sports Association (ECoRSA) have been built and now this has been upgraded with many facilities. This sports complex has facilities for badminton, table tennis, Volley Ball, Table Tennis, Handball, Kabaddi, Carom & Chess including Lawn Tennis and Gymnasium. Several National Sports events have also been hosted at the Railway Indoor Stadium.

Apart from this, the Cricket academy will help to promote the Railway employees, their wards and local youths about the sportive spirit and to expose their inherent talents on sports and to develop their skills. It is also open for public on payment basis for sports activities.

First center in eastern India to be inaugurated by the ‘Sports Injury and Rehabilitation’ department of Care Hospital

Bhubaneswar, sports injuries have always been. Injuries in the current competitive and professional sports are a sensitive issue. Occasionally there is a risk of serious injury to a player. "Most importantly, if the sportspersons are vigilant, the injury rate will be lower and they will be able to get better with proper treatment later and show their sports talent as before," said Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Navkishore Das.

Addressing the inaugural function of the Department of Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation at Bhubaneswar Care Hospital, Minister Das said that players and the general public in Odisha could benefit from the new center's medical services. Care Hospital can help them achieve their goals and gain the confidence of Odisha's athletes. It will also encourage the general public to stay healthy by encouraging them to get involved in the sport. Minister Das congratulated Care Care Hospital for this international medical facility and said it would definitely help in organizing and making the next national and international sports competition a success.

Joining him as the guest of honor on the occasion, Padma Shri Shri Dillip Tirkey, former captain of the Indian hockey team, said that in the last few years, the state government has organized a number of sports tournaments like hockey, cricket and football, making Odisha the ‘Scots Capital of India’. Joining as one of the distinguished guests, former Indian cricketer and BCCI national selector Shri Debashis Mohanty opined that the establishment of the ‘Sports Injury and Rehabilitation’ department at Care Hospital8 in Bhubaneswar was a welcome one and that it was the first in Odisha and East India.

The institute will focus on improving sports in Odisha and eastern India and providing world-class medical care to injured players. Attending the event were Care Hospital Group CEO Shri Jasdeep Singh, ACO Gurit Kaur Sethi, Orthopedic Specialist Dr. Sandeep Singh, who is also the chief guest, commented on the need for the ‘Sports Injury and Rehabilitation’ department of Care Hospital4, saying that Care Hospital4 is the largest in India in the field of sports, exercise and healthcare.

The department focuses on sports performance, injury prevention and multidisciplinary management through the care of athletes in the early stages of injury prevention, appropriate surgical and non-surgical management, and protocol-based rehabilitation. He encouraged ordinary people as well to take part in solving this great task: "One of the things you and other people can do is keep up the pressure ... there are going to be some difficult decisions for government".
