Rs 7.5 crore to be invested in oil and gas infrastructure in next five years - PM

New Delhi / Bhubaneswar: The Indian government plans to invest Rs 7.5 lakh over the next five years to create an oil and gas infrastructure in Tamil Nadu through a video conference on Wednesday. . 35th Progress Review Meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister

Helpline Number 139 has taken over of all the existing helpline numbers in railways, making it easy for the passengers to remember this number and connect with the Railways.

With an aim for passenger convenience, Railways have merged all helpline numbers for security, general complaints, catering, vigilance etc with a 139 helpline number. This single number 139 will be used henceforth for making all inquiries and lodging grievances during travel. This Helpline Number 139 has taken over all the existing Helpline Numbers making it easy for the passengers to remember this number to connect with Railways. Zonal railways will not proliferate any new help line number or grievance number other than 139.

Helpline Number - 139 will provide integrated services to Rail Users. Earlier Helpline Numbers those were dedicated to specific will be discontinued.  General complaints and Clean my Coach – 138, Accidents & Safety – 1072, Security issues – 182 have now been integrated and Rail Users are now use single Helpline Number.  Integrated Helpline Number - 139 will be available in different languages and based on IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System). All the mobile users can access to call on 139.

The Integrated service of Helpline Number – 139 will help in quick grievance redressal and enquiry during the journey. Dialing 139 will be presented with menu options to choose from by the IVRS and that will be connected immediately to call center executives.

The user just call, send an SMS for all basic enquiries of train running and reservation related enquiries like PNR Status, Ticket (General & Tatkal) availability, Train Arrival, Departure, Diverted & Cancelled Schedules, Seat availability, Ticket Cancellation, Fare, Destination Alert, Wakeup Call; issues of on-board services and Security related issues, etc. Only the front end of 138 and 182 are done away with. The back-end remains.

Press Brief on Pre-Budget Consultation Meeting of UFM

Today, Hon’ble Minister, Finance has raised some issues common to States and specific issues concerning our State in the Pre-Budget Consultation Meeting of Union Finance Minister. Some of the important issues are:

 Amendment of sub-section (3) of Section 8 of Central Sales Tax Act, 1956 to prohibit misuse of ‘C’ Forms by the manufacturers, mining contractors and works contractors for interstate purchase of High Speed Diesel (HSD) paying CST @2%.

To make provision of at least Rs.7,200 crore in the forthcoming Budget, 2021-22 for railway infrastructure in Odisha for the on-going projects, sanctioning of new line, station modernisation, establishment of rail based industries, multi-modal logistics parks etc

Financial inclusion in the State of Odisha;

Allocation of at least Rs.5,650 crore should be made for Telecom sector for Odisha for the year 2021-22 in Union Budget.

Provision of sufficient funds for development and maintenance of National Highways

Addressing Power Sector issues like Amendment in Tariff Policy to terminate very old PPAs, Amendment to Electricity Act, 2003 to allow all Hydro projects under RPO obligation and enable DISCOMs / States’ Bulk Power Procurers to participate in tenders floated by SECI for procurement of Bundled Power for reduction in Power
Purchase Cost of DISCOMs.

Adequate provision for piped drinking water

Consultation with the State Governments before taking any major policy decisions that affect sub-national finances;

To stop off-budget transfers of fund for Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). Even if it is an off-budget resource for Government of India, it should be routed through RBI;

To allow States to operate the Centrally Sponsored Schemes directly instead of opening separate scheme based bank account;

Sharing pattern in CSS for Odisha at par with North-Eastern and Himalayan States;

To gradually eliminate Cess and Surcharge on the Customs duty and Direct Taxes;

Multilateral Development Assistance in local currency for Externally Aided Projects being executed by the State Government Our State hopes that Hon’ble Union Finance Minister will definitely consider the suggestions and demands of the State Government favourably while formulating Union Budget.

Dharmendra Pradhan held talks with the Jharkhand Chief Minister on steel sector and mining management

The Prime Minister said the biggest issue in the vaccination campaign was to identify and monitor those who needed to be vaccinated. That is why the Co-Win digital platform has been developed. Beneficiaries will be identified with the help of Aadhaar and will be given a second dose of vaccine in a timely manner. "The real data that is being uploaded to the co-op is very important for the vaccination campaign," he said. Once a person has received the first dose of vaccine, Co-Win will immediately generate a vaccine-certified certificate. This certificate or certificate will serve as evidence for a second dose of the vaccine. The final certificate will be issued to the person concerned after the second dose.

The target is to vaccinate 30 crore people in the next few months:

Blue Economy will be an important source of self-reliance for India: Prime Minister

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the development of the coastal areas and the welfare of hard-working fishermen are an important priority of the government. He spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was important for peacekeeping. The Prime Minister made the remarks while addressing a ceremony after handing over the state of the natural gas pipeline from Kochi-Mangalore to the nation through video conferencing.

It emphasizes the multifaceted communication system. "We are working to improve the quality of life in our coastal states and transform them into a role model for business convenience," he said. The Prime Minister also highlighted the coastal fisheries community, which is not only dependent on marine resources but also its protectors. The government has taken steps to preserve and prosper the coastal ecosystem. These measures include assistance to deep-sea fishermen, various fisheries departments, cheap loans, and issuance of Kisan credit cards to people engaged in fishing. 

Entrepreneurs and ordinary fishermen can benefit from this. The Prime Minister highlighted the recently launched Rs 20,000 crore fisheries resource scheme. The scheme will directly benefit millions of fishermen in Kerala and Karnataka. India is making rapid progress in the export of fish products. Every effort is being made to make India a quality seafood processing center. India can play a key role in meeting the growing demand for marine algae, as farmers are being encouraged to use marine algae.

Sambalpur, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone for the permanent campus of IIM Sambalpur through video conferencing. The ceremony was attended by Union Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokharial ‘Nishank’, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Minister Shri Pratap Chandra along with Odisha Governor Prof Ganesh Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the permanent campus of IIM Sambalpur would not only showcase the culture and natural resources of Odisha but also give Odisha a global identity in the field of management. 

He said that in the recent past, the number of Indian multinationals has increased, with more and more foreign companies coming to India. While startups are on the rise in second- and third-class cities, more 'unicorns' have been found in India despite the crisis. Rapid reforms in agriculture continue. In such a situation, the Prime Minister called on the students to connect their careers with the aspirations of the country. "In this new decade, it is your responsibility to give Brand India a global identity," he said.

He was pleased that the country had adopted a long-term solution to the Saxons Abyssinian solution. He cited examples of increasing the number of Jan Dhan Bank accounts and LPG connections. The Prime Minister said that in 2014, the LPG connection was only 55 per cent, but today it has risen to 7 per cent. "It simply came to our notice then. "Management is not just about running a big company, it's about solving problems in public life," he said. 

"In order to be a good manager, it is important to understand the problems in the country," he said. For this reason, there must be ample opportunities in higher education institutions and they should not be confined to their own expertise alone, the Prime Minister said, adding that a comprehensive, multifaceted and holistic approach to national education is changing with the passage of time in the professional education system.

First Shraddha day of the eminent Gandhian AV Swami, emotional tributes were paid to the country’s Gandhi followers

NEW DELHI: The first homage of the well-known Odisha omnipotent leader and Gandhian social activist Shri AV Swami was held on the Webinar yesterday in New Delhi with the support of the Oriya Intellectual Forum ‘The Intellect’ and Mahatma Gandhi Public Knowledge Center.  

The memorial service, chaired by Mr. Devendra Nath Raut, President of The Intellectuals and Educated Social Worker, included a two-minute silent prayer for the well-being of the departed soul. President Raut paid homage to her husband and welcomed all the Gandhi followers from Odisha and beyond. 
Odisha's eminent intellectual and doctor, Bhagwan Prakash, paid homage to Swamiji and described him as a colleague and a role model for generations to come. Dr. Shankar Kumar Sanyal, National President of Harijan Sebak Sanghar, an institution founded by Mahatma Gandhi, shared his experience of working with this great Gandhian and paid deep homage to his immortal soul. 

Mr. Jagatananda, a prominent social activist from Odisha, spoke about his husband's work for the rural self-government and how the Odisha government had amended the Legislative Assembly Act to make him the first and only video in the country to successfully implement the Panchayati Raj system in the Baipariguda project. 

Mr. Aditya Patnaik, the host of the National Sarvodaya Sangathan, expressed his hope that his ideals would continue to be a source of inspiration to the youth. Mr. Jagadish Pradhan, a prominent social activist who has been working tirelessly to improve the agricultural system in Odisha, described how her husband was working with commitment to the development of the underdeveloped region of Odisha. 

Among others, Dr. Arundhati Devi, a social worker, Rajeshwari Dalai from the service community, Dr. Subhasini Barik, a professor at Delhi University, his son Sunil Acharya, daughter Suchitra Acharya, nephew and associate Ramesh Acharya paid tribute. In addition, many devotees from home and abroad attended the memorial service to pay their last respects and praise to her husband. Finally, Pradeep Kumar Panda offered his thanks.
