BJP to continue fighting till Odisha's last eligible beneficiary gets house : Prithviraj Harichandan

Bhubaneswar, the state government has been misleading the people of Odisha by writing PROs on the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme plaque and sticking Biju Babka's big photo with Biju Babu's photo below. Not only that, the Chief Minister himself took all the credit by handing over a letter to the beneficiaries that the house had fulfilled Biju Babu’s dream. The state government has issued new stickers after a statewide blockade and anti-government rallies under Section 420 of the CRPC in various police stations.

That fact must be taken into account. " However, BJP state general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said it was "unfortunate" that the state government had taken such a decision without comment. The law stipulates that no logo or nomenclature cluster can be changed in any national flagship program. Despite this, the state government created a bad tradition. The state government is in a dilemma with two names on one sticker. This is not acceptable at all.

The houses of the central government scheme should be named under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme and the houses subsidized by the state government under the Biju Pakkaghar scheme. The false letter from the Chief Minister to the beneficiaries does not contain the name of the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme. "It simply came to our notice then. It is a complete lie that the state government has promised to provide housing to fulfill Bijubabu's dream. Mr. Harichandan demanded that the Chief Minister immediately withdraw the deceptive letter.

As soon as the application forms are filed in the block in February, the state government should immediately collect the names of the eligible beneficiaries on the housing portal. The government has repeatedly reversed its decision, damaging the treasury. More than Rs 10 crore has been spent on stickers made by the state government with the big logo of Biju Pakka Ghar. Mr. Harichandan demanded that the state government clarify from whom the Rs 10 crore that has been spent unnecessarily from the state exchequer will be reimbursed.

The Prime Minister has promised to provide permanent housing to every eligible beneficiary in Odisha by 2022. Accordingly, the state government should refrain from self-promotion and work to ensure that eligible beneficiaries get a permanent home. Mr Harichandan warned that the BJP would continue its agitation to get permanent housing for Odisha's last eligible beneficiaries.
