Had the Assembly House Committee been overwhelmed, Andhra Pradesh would not have held elections in Kotia today

Bhubaneswar, The Andhra Pradesh border dispute over Bhubaneswar and Kotia is not new today. The case has been pending in the Supreme Court since 1968. The Samajwadi Party's state committee has alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government today dared to hold panchayat elections in three villages in Kotia due to the Odisha government's negligence in taking steps to protect the Oriya-speaking areas.

Ravi Behera, the state president of the party, went on to comment on the Kotia dispute, saying that in the third week of November, when the Andhra government blocked the road within 600 meters of Sunabeda village in Sambai panchayat under Patangi block of Koraput district, the Samajwadi Party was on its way. It was demanded to intervene. On November 22, the Samajwadi Party wrote a letter urging the Samajwadi Party Speaker to address the Kotia area and hold talks with the people there.

Unfortunately, the House Select Committee on Foreign Affairs has not yet commented on the issue. As a result, the Kotia dispute has taken a turn for the worse today, with the Andhra Pradesh government electing a panchayat to claim Kotia village as its territory. The Samajwadi Party today fully supports the Hon'ble Chief Minister's inauguration of the Rs 18 crore project in Kotia and the steps he has taken for another Rs 150 crore project and the announcement to make the Kotia region.

Mr Behera demanded that the Odisha government convene an all-party meeting immediately not only on Kotia, but also on the disputes over Odisha's border and water and land disputes with various neighboring states. The Samajwadi Party is demanding the cancellation of the forthcoming panchayat elections in Kotia by slamming the Andhra Pradesh government ahead of the chief minister’s agitation. Mr Behera appealed to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs to take immediate action before the Chief Minister's visit to discuss the issue and discuss the issue with the people there.
