This year, Odisha received a grant of Rs 6,995.58 crore from the railway budget

Bhubaneswar, Central Railway Budget Odisha has received a grant of Rs 9,995.58 crore for the fiscal year 2021-22. Since the Modi government came to power at the Center, Odisha has consistently received more and more money from the railway budget. Under the Congress-led UPA government, Odisha never received more than Rs 1,000 crore in the railway budget. Under the Modi government, Odisha has received a record grant of Rs 36,107 crore so far, state president Shri Sameer Mohanty thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

Mr Mohanty said Rs 520 crore had been earmarked for the Khordha-Balangir railway line project last year, while Rs 1,000.50 crore has been earmarked for the project this year, an increase of 92.4 per cent. A total of Rs 70 crore was allocated last year for the Bamsapani-Daitari Tomka-Jakhpura doubling railway line, of which Rs 226 crore has been allocated this year, an increase of 185 per cent.

Rs 20 crore has been earmarked for the Brindamal-Jharsuguda play-off, Rs 229 crore for the Bhadrak-Ningundi third railway line, Rs 215 crore for the Budhap-Shalanga, Rs 230 crore for the Rourkela-Jharsuguda third line and Rs 225 crore for the Narayanagarh-Bhadrak third line. Similarly the convenience of railway passengers. Rs 429 crore has been earmarked for the project. Mr Mohanty thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing a record amount of money to Odisha in the current railway budget.
