The 15th Toshali Handicrafts Fair has been held at the Janata Maidan on January 21 on behalf of the Department of Handlooms, Weaving and Handicrafts of the Government of Odisha. The fair has a total of 140 handicraft stalls and 116 handloom stalls. Today, Mrs. Ranjana Chopra, Principal Administrative Secretary, Department of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development, attended the Toshali Fair as a guest. Mrs. Shubha Sharma, Administrative Secretary, Department of Handlooms, Weaving and Handicrafts, was also present on the occasion. On the eleventh day, the Toshali fair was heavily crowded due to Sunday.

Customers visited the fairgrounds in compliance with all Covid rules. Sanitary and thermal levels were arranged at the fair gate. Wearing masks during the fair was mandatory for everyone. More than a million people gathered at the fair yesterday. As of January 31, the fair had more than Rs 3 crore in handicraft stalls and more than Rs 4 crore in handloom stalls. Odisha's paper masks, straw handicrafts, canopy work, paintings, dokra, sabai grass, brass and brass in the handicraft zone at the fair are attracting customers.

In addition, the bamboo work in Tripura and the wood carving in Mysore have attracted more and more people. The elephant carving of Dharmagarh in Kalahandi is captivating the audience. At the Toshali fair, two chairs are provided with special helpless facilities for the differently abled. Stalls have also been set up at the fairgrounds to facilitate their marketing. Utkalika stalls attract all kinds of handicrafts in Odisha and are selling well. At the Toshali fair, a hand-made bag stall was opened at the fair, which has become quite popular with the audience.

At the Toshali Mela, the stone, stone, sandalwood and sandstone workmanship of Mughunipathar in Mayurbhanj is well-received by the audience. Jackets from Himachal Pradesh, leather work from Shantiniketan, bamboo work from Assam, honeymoon work from Bihar, flowering industries from Punjab from outside Odisha are captivating the audience at the Toshali fair. The Toshali fair, held at Janata Maidan, will run until February 7. Every day the fair is open to the public from 2 to 9 p.m.
