Field visit and review of parallel roads to Nandankanan by the Chief Secretary

Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Suresh Chandra Mohapatra has stressed the need to complete the construction of two more parallel roads on the road from Jaydev Bihar to Nandankanan to speed up traffic congestion. To this end, Mr. Mohapatra visited the area and supervised the construction of both roads. After field-level monitoring and review, Chief Minister Shri Mohapatra, the Department of Public Works and the BDA were instructed to make both roads viable by June this year.

According to the information received, two parallel roads are under construction on the left and right sides of the current main road. On the left, Chandka Khandagiri Road is about 12 km from Sundarpur on Pathargadia-Infocity-Lumini Bihar-Shailshree Bihar railway junction to Xavier junction. Road construction is underway. In this way, the process of resettlement has been accelerated. Similarly, road work from Acharya Bihar on the south side to the Stadium-Kelucharan Park-Damana at Unitech Chowk, near the military school, is nearing completion.

The south side road will soon be connected from Kelucharan Park to Patia Station to Big Bazaar Square. On the south from Acharya Vihar to the 8th Battalion and Unitek Mall News Press Square to Damana; And on the left, the Chief Secretary directed the road to Sundarpur Xavier junction to be used by the end of June.

With the completion of the road on both sides, the Jaydev Bihar-Nandan Kanan road will be less congested and daily commuters will be able to reach their destinations with relative ease. Bhubaneswar Development Authority officials and senior engineers, including Dr Mona Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Forests and Environment, Shri Shashi Pallah, Director, Nandankanan, were present during the visit and review of the area.
