Renovation work of the Department of Cardiology of the Capital Hospital is underway: Minister Shri Das

Bhubaneswar, A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Navkishore Das and in the presence of Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department Shri Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra on the functioning of the Cardiology Department of Capital Hospital4. According to the meeting, more than 15,000 heart patients were registered in the outpatient department of cardiology at Capital Hospital4 in 2018, while in 2020 the number was about 16,000.

As the number of patients increases day by day, infrastructure upgrades are now underway to increase the scope of the department. There are currently 17 beds with outpatient cardiology investigations such as ECG, Gudiko, TMT services, as well as diagnostic systems such as angiogram and angioplasty in the Catalyst Service. In addition, ICU and gas pipeline work is underway. While the Department of Cardiology is a branch of the Super Specialty, it will soon be filled due to the high demand for posts such as ECG, Kathulab, OT, ICU and Eco Technicians. It was also decided at the meeting to buy a new electrophysiology machine. Buying this state-of-the-art machine can be helpful in treating heart disease.

The meeting, on the other hand, estimated that Kathalab would cost an average of over Rs 15 crore annually. On the occasion, Yamini Sadangi, Managing Director, Odisha State Pharmaceutical Corporation, DMK Prof. C.B.K. Mohanty, Director, Department of Cardiology, Capital Hospital, Prof. P.K. Das, Superintendent of Public Works, and senior officials from the Department of Health and Family Welfare were present.
