Indigenous fairs in 11 days, interest in buying tribal coffee

Bhubaneswar, In some states of South India, especially in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, coffee farming is considered a major source of livelihood. The sight of coffee growing in large parts of the two states attracts tourists. But it was unthinkable that the tribal sections of Koraput district, inhabited by the tribal-dominated tribal areas of Odisha, could move forward on the path to self-reliance by cultivating coffee. But the Koraput tribe has not only succeeded in cultivating coffee today, but the demand for coffee produced by them is increasing at home and abroad.

They pack their own coffee and send it to the market for sale. As a result, they are able to earn quite a bit of money. While small-scale business groups and big farmers around the world are involved in coffee cultivation, Koraput's poor tribal coffee cultivation has set a good example. The Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation (TDCC) has extended a helping hand to the people of the tribal areas towards coffee cultivation.

Customers are flocking to the 'Adivasi Coffee House' stall, which opened at the fair premises, to buy coffee, which is made by the Adivasis and packaged in packets. The packet weighs 100 grams and 250 grams. As the quality and taste of Koraput coffee is higher than that of other coffees, the demand for it is on the rise. The Indigenous Coffee House, which has been in the coffee business since 2019, has achieved significant success in two years. Not only are coffee packets on sale at this stall, the audience is clearly explained about its preparation methods and quality standards.

With the tribal fair reaching its eleventh day today, trade is also on the rise. In the afternoon, many people came to the fairgrounds to buy household items. Although there was no food market or cultural program, it did not deter the interest of the audience.
