New Delhi / Bhubaneswar: The sentiments of millions of Oriyas are associated with the Mahaprabhu Sreejagnath Temple. State BJP MPs, including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sadangi, held talks with Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel in New Delhi yesterday to refrain from implementing the proposed NMA heritage by-law for the temple. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel immediately overturned the NMA's historic by-law, emphasizing the issue of Odisha. A delegation led by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today called on Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Shri Prahlad Singh Patel to withdraw the proposed NMA's historic by-law for the temple and the services of the Shri Gannath Temple and the Odisha BJP.

What will be done by the central government to beautify and preserve the Puri shrine and its environs will be decided in consultation with all employers, services, locals and stakeholders, said Union Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel. He said he would come and talk to everyone. Later, BJP members and temple officials met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and thanked him. The Modi government is determined to keep the sentiments and needs of the Puri Shrimandir and its ethics, traditions, services and devotees intact.

Home Minister Shri Shah has promised the delegation that the Shree Gannath temple will not be affected by the Modi government. The delegation discussed the preservation of the Puri Jagannath Temple, the Konark Sun Temple and the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar. The services have invited the Union Home Minister and the Union Minister of Culture and Tourism to come to Puri.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sadangi, Union Culture Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, National Spokesperson Sambit Patra, State BJP General Secretary Lekhshree Samant Singhar, Brahmagiri MLA Lalithendu Vidyadhar Mohapatra, Puri MLA Jayant Kumar. Basant Pati, Bhimsen Chandan Hazuri, Madhusudan Singhari, Ramchandra Suwar, Bhavani Shankar Das Mohapatra and Somnath Khuntia were present.
