Chief Minister inaugurated the LED Street Light System on Cuttack-Puri Bypass Road

Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik unveiled the LED streetlight lighting system at Cuttack Puri Bypass Road at Saimandir Chowk on Tankpani Road in Bhubaneswar this evening. The lighting system has been implemented on a 12-kilometer stretch of road from Palashuni junction to Lingipur junction on Bypass Road.

"This will reduce the cost of electricity and make the public, especially drivers and pedestrians, safer, and better lighting will reduce road accidents and reduce crime and looting," he said.

Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation has installed 774 LED lights in 387 blocks and 3 high-mast lights in Lingipur, Keshura and Pandara. The state tourism department has spent Rs 9.85 crore for this. In the Bhubaneswar metropolitan area, the corporation is continuing its lighting program. More than 40,000 lights have now been installed in various parts of the city. An additional Rs 6.7 crore will be invested in more lighting soon.

The function was attended by Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Housing and Urban Development Minister Shri Pratap Jena, Science and Technology Minister Shri Ashok Chandra Panda, Bhubaneswar MLA Shri Anant Narayan Jena and Bhubaneswar North MLA Shri Sushant Kumar Raut. Mr. Sangramjit Nayak, Director, Municipal Administration, delivered the welcome address and Mr. Premchand Chowdhury, Commissioner, Metropolitan Corporation, thanked the participants.
