Bhubaneswar, The Adivasi Mela, which has been held at the Rajdhani Adivasi Exhibition Grounds since last Commonwealth Day, with the support of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Department, has reached its twelfth day today. The fair highlights the social, economic and cultural life of 62 indigenous peoples of the state. The fair has created unique opportunities for the people of the capital to see and buy art, handicrafts and agricultural products made by the tribals.

A total of 90 stalls or pavilions have been set up, and visitors can find out more about tribal lifestyles, craftsmanship and livelihoods. Nowadays, the market demand for tribal goods has increased unexpectedly. The tribal fairs, which have come to the capital after a gap of one year, have made it rare for all these items to be available in urban areas. The idea that the products made by the aborigines are pure and that the organic quality of it is still intact is what attracts the masses to the aboriginal fair in large numbers.

Due to the large number of customers, various pavilions around the fairgrounds have been busy for some time. One of the highlights of this year's Adivasi Mela is the widespread participation of women in self-help groups spread across the state's suburbs. With the help of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in various districts, they have come to the fair grounds to promote trade.

Indigenous people are interested in buying foodgrains such as Basumati rice, mung beans, mandia, palau, rashi, etc. produced by the indigenous people, as well as their bodies, pumpkins, pickles, turmeric and flowers. There was a lot to see. The housewives bought or did not buy anything else, but the sight of them returning with a bouquet of flowers or a packet of turmeric and Kendujhar in their hands was quite enjoyable.
