Bhubaneswar, The Union Parliamentary Affairs Secretary Dr. K.S. Rajendra S. Shukla and Joint Secretary Dr. Satyaprakash is on a three-day visit to Odisha. They are Speaker Dr. Surya Narayan courtesy of Patra. Speaker Dr. He lauded the steps taken by Patra to turn the Odisha Legislative Assembly into an e-Legislative Assembly. They also opined that the Punjab and Odisha assemblies have done a significant job in this regard.

A review meeting in this regard was also held in Chamber-54 in the Assembly premises. Assembly Secretary Dashrathi Shatapathi briefed on the program. The Neva operation has been expedited with an investment of Rs 1,2,809 crore from the central government and the remaining 80 per cent of the state government's investment. The secretary also said that the money was invested in the purchase of four computers for the Odisha Assembly Secretariat, video conferencing facilities in the Assembly and the modernization of LAN and Wi-Fi.

With the help of Electronics and Information Technology Secretary Manoj Mishra Okak, the Neva program is progressing rapidly. The meeting was informed that the Reporting Branch, the Executive Branch and the Question and Answer Branch were being fully computerized to complete the work of the Assembly and technical training was being provided to the officers and employees of the respective branches. The Union Parliamentary Affairs Secretary advised the legislators to provide the necessary training and expedite the work of the e-Assembly in wartime.
