Bhubaneswar, The state government is currently showing interest in various temple beautification schemes, while a Dalit family has been stranded on the roads since January 12 in the development of the Lingaraj temple. BMC authorities have demolished the residential property on which the family resides for the purpose of road widening; "She was released this morning; she's talked to her father and she's fine. As a result, four families, including two children aged 3 and 4, were left stranded on the side of the road in the heat, cold and darkness.

According to the report, the descendants of the late Jagannath Sethi lived in Bhubaneswar Unit-24, Mouza Gautam Nagar, Account No. 181 and Plot No. 2263 and 2260. The house of Prabhat Sethi, one of the inherited Rajak families, was demolished on January 12 by the BMCC authorities for the expansion of Kedargauri road. Mr Sethi had earlier promised to provide alternative housing and financial assistance. However, his residence was not demolished at the time by the BMC.

Prabhat Sethi, his wife and two children under the age of five are in a state of panic with mosquitoes, flies, venomous insects and snakes under the cold dew provided by the local former corporation. No food, clothing, drinking water or blankets were provided for the family. Meanwhile, two children have fallen ill with severe frostbite, while no arrangements have been made by the BMCC authorities for treatment. Upon hearing the news, a team from Ambedkar’s Lohia Judicial Forum reached the spot and investigated the facts.

Contacting the BMCC authorities in this regard, it was found that the officer in charge of the demolition and expansion, Mr. Kamaljit Das, was absent from his office and was told that no other official could do anything about it. Toll Free No. 1098 was contacted repeatedly, but no response was received.

In this regard, the World Forum has demanded that the BMC authorities provide immediate assistance to the family and provide them with accommodation, food and medical care until they are fully recovered. Five state secretaries have been asked to intervene and take immediate action.
