House committee meetings to study the problems of the displaced by mining projects and industrial projects

Bhubaneswar, A meeting of the Assembly House Committee was held today to address the plight of the people displaced by various irrigation projects, mining projects and industrial projects and to determine ways to address them. The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Rajinikanth Singh in the Assembly Hall 54.

Subarnarekha, Rengali, Indrabati, Upper Kolab Irrigation Project and Saintala Ammunition Factory. The meeting focused on the plight of displaced people. On September 19, 1911, the then House Committee on Interim reported on the real problems of the displaced due to the Upper Kolab and Indrabati irrigation projects, and again on November 11, 1922, on the displacement of the Rengali and Subarnarekha irrigation projects.

Since 2000, the Twelfth, Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Legislative Committees have been formed, and have been constantly addressing the plight of the displaced and their solutions. Members demanded an immediate solution to the problem of the displaced. The meeting was attended by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Sudham Mandi, Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick, Opposition Chief Whip Mohancharan Majhi, MLA Santosh Singh Saluja, Parshuram Dhada, Prashant Jagdev, Kishore Kumar Mohanty, Assembly Secretary Dashrathi Shatapathi.
