Meeting of the House Committee on Environment and Pollution and a report from the relevant departments

Bhubaneswar, The House Committee on Environmental Pollution met today in the new conference room of the Assembly. It is chaired by Surya Narayan Patra. The meeting focused on polluting water from rivers, canals and agricultural lands, industrial pollution, coal pollution by sponge iron factories, and environmental cleanup in various urban and rural areas.

It has been decided to hold a meeting with the departments of Urban Development, Panchayat Raj, Forests and Environment in this regard on February 1 next year. The meeting also decided to interpret the verdict on environmental pollution by the National Green Tribunal. Opposition Chief Whip Mohan Taran Majhi, leader of the Indian National Congress Legislative Party Narasimha Mishra and sponge iron factory to clean up the environment in urban, urban and rural areas to study the release of polluted water by industrial bodies into various reservoirs. A sub-committee has been formed under the chairmanship.

The subcommittee will study environmental pollution and report back before the session. The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker Rajinikanth Singh, Panchayat Raj Minister Pratap Jena, Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick, Government Chief Whip Pramila Mallick, Opposition Chief Whip Mohan Charan Majhi, Indian National Congress Legislative Party Leader Narasimha Mishra, MLA Badri Narayan Patil. Vice-leaders Vishnu Sethi, Braj Kishore Pradhan, Ramesh Chandra Behera, Dashrathi Gamanga, Meenakshi Mahant, Prakash Soren were prominently present.
