State has received Rs 10,000 crore for the construction of the railway project - the Congress

Bhubaneswar, A delegation from the Odisha Legislative Assembly met Railway Minister Piyush Goel in Delhi last year to demand more grants to the state. The budget was presented to Parliament on February 1, while the Odisha Legislative Assembly Committee met the Railway Minister on February 12 to demand the state. The next central budget is scheduled to be presented to Parliament on February 1, 2021-22. The people of Odisha will have to bear the brunt of the state’s demands if the state party’s demands are not properly presented before the Congress party’s budget is presented.

So instead of confusing the people of the state by demanding the state government after the presentation of the budget, the government should present a demand to the Union Railway Minister on how to get more and more grants to the state before the budget. Both the BJD and the BJP are being called on by the Congress party to represent the legitimate interests of Odisha in the Delhi court above party politics. With more than Rs 15,000 crore in revenue coming from Odisha every year, state Congress spokesperson Nishikant Mishra said in a press release that the state budget would provide at least Rs 10,000 crore in the next budget for railway development.

Congress demands.
1. The Odisha Assembly Committee should immediately present a demand to the Railway Minister on the issue of railway grants before the budget. 2. The Government of Odisha has strongly requested the Center to provide more grants to the railways. The state transport minister should go to Delhi and meet the railway minister. 3. Before the budget for development in the railway sector, all MPs from Odisha should come together and meet the Railway Minister to present the demands of the state. 4. It is unfortunate that the Khordha Road-Balangir railway line (24 km), which was included in the railway budget in the harvest of the Congress government at the Center in the years 18-45, has not yet been completed. The construction of the railway project, which connects east-west Odisha, should be expedited.

5. On January 19, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of a metro train project for Ahmedabad and Surat in the state of Gujarat. According to the Prime Minister, metro trains have arrived in 24 cities across the country. There are no problems with metro trains between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in Odisha. The Congress party is demanding the announcement of the Odisha Metro Rail Project proposal in the budget. 6. In the wake of the UPA government at the Center, the 2011-12 railway budget announced the construction of a wagon factory at Shitalapalli in Ganjam district.

More than four years have passed since then, but the process of setting up the factory has not yet begun. In the current budget, the Congress has demanded the announcement of at least Rs 100 crore for the establishment of a sugar factory. Similarly, the Congress party has demanded to expedite the process of setting up an electric people maintenance workshop at Narla in Kalahandi district.
