Memorandum to the Postmaster General demanding the issuance of special postage stamps

Bhubaneswar, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's 125th birth anniversary is set to be celebrated from January 23. Today, the Government of India has decided to celebrate Netaji's birth anniversary as "Power Day" by the Department of Culture of the Government of India. Netaji Subhas Bose was born on January 23 in the historic city of Cuttack in Odisha.

On the occasion of Netaji's 125th birth anniversary, a seven-member delegation from the Samajwadi Party, led by state president Ravi Behera, today handed over a commemorative postage stamp in his memory, demanding the release of a commemorative postage stamp in his memory. A copy of the memorandum has been issued to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javedkar and Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik.

Along with Mr. Behera, the party's state general secretary Sudarshan Pradhan, executive committee member Anant Mohanty and party's youth president Subrata Lenka Pramukh visited the delegation and handed over the memorandum. Additional Lt. Gen. L.N. Mishra accepted the memorandum and promised to take legal action.
