Farmers in 36 assembly constituencies besiege RDC office in Sambalpur with huge BJP farmers' rally

Sambalpur / Bhubaneswar, A farming area in Sambalpur, farmers are dying of anxiety due to incompetence and unrest in the state government. The BJP on Thursday staged a massive farmers' rights rally in Sambalpur demanding immediate removal of paddy from the mandi and cessation of cotton harvesting. Farmers from 34 assembly constituencies surrounded the Sambalpur RDC office with tokens and mandis, while thousands of farmers gathered at the BJP's massive farmers' rally.

Rajya Sabha MP and Odisha in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar criticized the Odisha government, saying why did the state government not implement it while many central schemes were being implemented in Odisha? Although the Congress had been in power for a long time, the peasants were neglected and did not get what they deserved. The situation is similar in Odisha. Farmers are being harassed by the state government and brokers for honeymoon and cotton picking.

But since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014, he has taken steps to double farmers' incomes, including agricultural irrigation schemes. The Modi government is working for the farmers, thinking that if the agricultural sector is prosperous, the country will be prosperous. Mr Tomar, on the other hand, questioned why the state government had not implemented the AYUSHAN scheme for free treatment of the poor up to Rs 5 lakh.

Similarly, state president Sameer Mohanty said that if there was a token system in the state, farmers would not get a fair price for agricultural produce. Similarly, it is worrying that farmers in Bargarh have died of heart attacks without getting the right price. Hundreds of bags of paddy could not be sold in the mandi due to incompetence of the state government while the mandi problem was not being resolved in the Sambalpur area. In Sambalpur, paddy is falling in the mandi due to humanitarian unrest. Miller has questioned the state government on the rationale for raising the issue of Ushuna-Arua rice without raising the issue of farmers' rice procurement.

Similarly, the state government should abolish the token system and close the target quota of 13 quintals from non-irrigated land and 18 quintals from irrigated land to buy all the paddy produced by the farmers. Mr. Mohanty also demanded that the token, which was out of order during the kharif season, be rehabilitated. On the other hand, in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Odisha and launched the Crop Insurance Scheme and provided Rs 4,000 crore to 2 million farmers in Odisha. Under Prime Minister Modi, the MSP for paddy has risen from Rs 1,310 per quintal to Rs 14 per quintal. But let the state government answer why farmers in the state do not get the right MSP price.

Modi's money is being looted here. Mr. Mohanty said the BJP would continue to fight until justice was done to the farmers. The rally was attended by senior leaders KV Singhdeo, Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, Balangir MP Sangeeta Singhdeo, Kalahandi MP Basant Panda, Sambalpur MP Nitish Gangadev, Opposition leader Pradeep Nayak, Krishak Morcha state president Pradeep Purohit, Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayana Mishra.
