The state government has come up with a ambitious plan to attract tourists from home and abroad, taking advantage of the huge potential in the tourism sector in the state. As a milestone in the field of beach tourism, efforts are underway to develop Puri Konark Marine Driver Chandrabhaga and Talsari-Udaipur beach in Baleshwar as an international tourist destination in the state.

Today, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik discussed in detail the implementation of these two ambitious schemes at a high-level meeting. The plan calls for the development of a 1-km-wide area at Chandrabhaga on Puri-Konark beach. The master plan prepared for this is water sports, amusement, beautiful walks, bicycle tracks, wood walks along the beach, free theaters, areas for small children’s playgrounds: platforms to watch the sunrise, adventure sports and other modern facilities.

In addition, modern waste management systems, landscaping, sand protection systems, solar lighting facilities, as well as local participation will be encouraged. With the goal of completing the work within a year, tourists can enjoy it only during the day.

On the other hand, the beach at Talsari in Baleshwar will be developed for 2.7 km so that tourists can stay for several days and enjoy the beauty of the beach. For this, there will be incentives to build star hotels and budget hotels.

Rainy shelters, kiosks, Sitting Islands, Solar Photo Voltaic panels, Amphi-Theaters, Restaurants, restaurants will be arranged with the pavilion so that tourists can enjoy the beauty of the beach. An Art & Craft Plaza will also be set up to introduce tourists to Odisha's art and culture. All of this infrastructure work is targeted by October 2021. The Chief Minister also directed the various departments, agencies and district administrations of the state government to provide all the necessary assistance and to complete all these projects on time. The Chief Minister congratulated the Puri beach on getting the Blue Flag Standard and thanked the district administration and tourism department for this and said that in the next two years, the beaches in Puri district such as Pir Jahania, Nila, Muhan etc. will be closed. .

The meeting was attended by Bhograi MLA Shri Anant Das, Chairman of OTDC, Chief Secretary to Government, Additional Chief Secretary to Development Commission, Forest and Environment, Chief Secretary to Tourism, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister (5-T) and Puri and Daleshwar district commissioners.
