Bhubaneswar, A preparatory meeting was held today under the chairmanship of state Chief Electoral Officer Sushil Kumar Lohani to mark the Eleventh National Voters' Day at the state level. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is pleased to announce that by 2020, the by-elections in two Assembly constituencies in the state will have carried out two important functions, including the revision of the special voter list and the preparation of the voter list.
Our country is celebrating the 11th National Voters' Day on January 25. On the occasion of National Voters' Day, this year's theme is "Strong, Alert, Safe and Awakening of Our Voters". Our state has decided to celebrate National Voters' Day at the state, district and booth levels. Due to the cut-off, the National Election Day will be held in a virtual manner with as few people as possible this year.
It was decided at the preparatory meeting that new voters would be honored on this day and the oath of office would be sworn in. At each booth, the BL4Os will be present and administer the oath of office to the new voters by distributing photo IDs. In this regard, Rs 200 per booth will be provided. Similarly, at the district level, new voters will be sworn in and photo IDs will be distributed, Chief Electoral Officer Shri Lohani said.
Mr Lohani will also be honored on the day for his outstanding work in the preparation of special voter lists at the district level. It has been decided that the BL4O, EAO, which has also done outstanding work at the state level, will be honored above all by the district election officials. The district election officials, Baleshwar and Jagatsinghpur, will be honored for their smooth conduct of by-elections during the Kovid epidemic.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Bhavani Prasad Roy, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Sanghamitra Shatapathi and Shatrughan Kar, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Pramod Kumar Sahu, ASEE Idrish Alli Khan, AS Ramakrishna Tung and Yogesh Rao.
