A state of the art bus terminal will be built on 12 acres of land in Cuttack Khannagar

Cuttack, Bus terminal will be constructed at Khannagar in Cuttack. It will cost Rs 65 crore. Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik announced at the meeting that the state-of-the-art bus terminal would be named after the great fighter Netaji Subhas Bose. It will be implemented under five programs of the state government.

Netaji's birthday will be celebrated on January 23 and this year the country is celebrating Netaji's 125th birthday. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, one of the leaders and great fighters of our freedom struggle, was born in the Cuttack Oriya market and received his childhood education in Cuttack. The state government has decided to set up a state-of-the-art bus terminal in Khannagar as the Badambadi bus stand is overcrowded and is facing public and passenger difficulties.

At the state-of-the-art bus terminal, the Chief Minister directed to set up a special kiosk to inform the public about Netaji's life and struggle. . Various motifs and paintings will be displayed at various points in the terminal to promote Netaji's ideals and biography. The bus terminal will have all kinds of state-of-the-art facilities for the convenience of the passengers. It will have a large terminal building, a regular bus bay, a local and my bus service area, a vehicle repair and maintenance block, and a special park for four-wheelers and autos.

A three-storey terminal building will be built on 1,180,000 square feet, which will include a passenger lounge, a food court, a doak room, a ticket house, an e-vehicle charging point, rainwater conservation on the roof and a solar panel. The terminal will accommodate 160 buses at a time. There will also be an integrated information management system for the convenience of passengers. It was decided at the meeting to extend the cutter’s tag road for another two kilometers for the construction.

The event was graced by the Chief Minister's Secretary (5-T) Shri V.K. Pandian conducted. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary to Government, the Development Commissioner, the Additional Chief Secretary to the Department of Housing, the Principal Secretary to the Department of Commerce and Transport, the Principal Secretary to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Principal Secretary to the Finance Department and the Central Revenue Commission, Cuttack District Commissioner. The Secretary of State presented the project.
