Bhubaneswar, Janaki Ballabh Patnaik, former Chief Minister of Odisha, former Governor of Assam, eminent scholar and late Janaki Ballabh Patnaik, celebrated his 75th birthday this morning on behalf of the state-level memory committee. A virtual lighting ceremony was held at the Buddha Temple to mark the occasion.
In his welcome address, Dr. Aryakumar Gyanendra, General Secretary and Loyalist to Janaki Ballabh, said that the real vision of the developed Odisha that the youth are seeing today was the late Janaki Ballabh Patnaik. Joining him as the chief guest, state Congress president Niranjan Patnaik said the late Patnaik was a visionary leader who dreamed of developing Odisha and making it one of the best states in India. Former ministers Jagannath Patnaik, Panchanan Kanungo, Janaki Babu, among others, were described as great men in the Bhagavad Gita.
Former Chancellor Dr Harekrishna Shatapathi said he was in possession of infinite power. Tribute to Labor leader Rajendra Prasad Singh, who said he knew the art of making friends with the enemy. Professor Kailash was surprised that such a personality as he had interpreted the Mahabharata, the Ramayana, the Bhagavad Gita was rare in today's society. All the programs were handled by educationist Badrinath Patnaik. Pandit Binod Bihari Das recited the Vedas at the lighting ceremony.
Manoj Rath, spokesperson for Puri Sri Shankaragarya Math and Prof. Buddhadeb Mishra called Janaki Babu a man of divinity. Social worker Sitaballav Mohapatra offered thanks. Former administrator Govind Mahunt, social activist Prasanna Bishoyi, Buddhist temple trustee Dr Sourendra Mohapatra, yoga guru Narayan Chandra Nand, among others, delivered keynote speeches.
