Basant Das's research English book is a blazing document of the evolution of Odisha politics

Bhubaneswar, Senior journalist and columnist Basant Das's door on the occasion of his one-on-one birthday. The book "Political History of Modern Odisha" was officially unveiled at noon today by Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, a prominent intellectual, news editor and MLA in a beautiful atmosphere in the auditorium of the Buddha Temple.

At the inaugural function, which was organized by the Pujya Pranam Trust, the chief guest, Mr. Patnaik, said that Basant Babu, who is entering his eighties today, has given a book to countless students, youth, researchers, critics and politicians interested in Odisha politics. He said the book was a blazing document of the evolution of Odisha politics.

Dr. Bhagwan Prakash, a distinguished guest, said that by the grace of God, Basanta Babu was sharpening his writing at the age of 81. Sanjeev Chandra Hota, a senior former administrator, said it was as hard to reveal the truth as it was to accept the truth. But it has been 50 years since Basanta Babu never hesitated to reveal the truth. Provincial Congress Committee President Niranjan Patnaik, one of the guests, Dr. Bimalendu Mohanty, a relative of Basant Babu, gave a comparative account of Basant Babu's journalism and literary biography.

Dr. Arya Kumar Gyanendra, Chairman, Pujya Pranam Trust, officiated the function while Senior Journalist Pradosh Patnaik delivered the welcome address and VK Mohapatra, Proponent of BK Publications, thanked the participants. Responding to a congratulatory message by senior journalist Shri Das, he said that the people of Odisha should remember to do something during their lifetime.
